Palace Merano Unveils The New Revital Spa

25/02/2023, Healing Holidays

The world-renowned Palace Merano has reopened its doors after totally renovating its Revital Spa. Carried out by interior designer, Michel Jouannet, the 1,200 m² spa has been completely redesigned, including the massage cabins, fitness room, common areas, hairdressing salon and boutique. This marks the completion of all works and total launch of The Revital Method: Detox for Longevity at Palace Merano.

Using materials such as Crema Marfil beige marble, Azul Cascais limestone and Afrormosia wood, the renovation has focused on promoting light and space, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere in line with Palace Merano’s other departments that are dedicated to treatments.

The former 25 massage cabins where Revital's famous cupping energy massages are performed, have been transformed into 18 more spacious and brighter cabins for added comfort. Natural light floods in through the curtains and each cabin is decorated in soft tones, with insulated doors that keep out any exterior noise, allowing for true relaxation. In addition, the two cabins dedicated to scalp treatments have also been fully renovated, along with the cabin used for manicures and pedicures.

The refreshed boutique stocks the new Revital by Piroche Cosmétiques line, which is exclusively Made in Merano, with 40 years of beauty expertise behind every single product. The line provides a concentrate of advanced formulas that are the result of a perfect combination of cosmetic research and unconditional love for nature. Exceptionally effective ingredients that work in synergy with the skilful techniques of the Revital beauty experts at Palace Merano offer tailor-made sensory experiences of the highest effectiveness. Palace Merano’s Revital method, in combination with Piroche Cosmétiques products, allows each treatment to be individually tailored to the skin's needs.

The new 160 m² fitness room, with its large panoramic windows overlooking the park and the outdoor pool, offers space for individual gym sessions. Exclusively equipped by Technogym® with the high-quality Artis line, it is complemented by new equipment.

In total, the health and wellness departments at Palace Merano extend over 6000 m² of space dedicated to health and well-being. The Revital Spa is in addition to Palace Merano’s 1800 m² wellness area, which includes a 16m swimming pool with jacuzzi, an outdoor heated pool and bar with herbal teas and fresh organic juices, sauna, Turkish bath, Kneipp path and women’s wellness area. The 1500 m² medical department occupies the entire 5th floor, where more than 60 professionals - medical specialists, aesthetic doctors, nutritionists, alternative practitioners, physiotherapists, osteopaths and nurses work. This is where the Dietetics and Bioenergetics departments are, with naturopathic specialists. The centre for aesthetic medicine and internal medical analysis laboratory are also situated here.

Since its opening in 1906, Palace Merano, a South Tyrolean jewel with Belle Époque architecture, has undergone numerous changes. The once prestigious Grand Hotel in Merano with one of the most important thermal spas in Europe has evolved into an exclusive luxury hotel that specialises in preventive health with the Revital method. When Pietro Tosolini acquired the Hotel Palace Merano in 2005, a year before its centenary, he called on Michel Jouannet to, "restore splendour, freshness, light and a sense of tranquillity, bringing in a touch of modernity without neglecting the historical heritage of a place where you can relax". Pietro Tosolini, who passed away a few months ago, had time to closely follow all the planning stages of this last renovation. The completion of this project is a way to honour his memory. Today his children Patrizia, Monica, Paolo and Stefano are in charge of the company and will take it forward, meeting the challenges of the new generation.
