Rocco Forte’s first resort hotel is an eco-conscious, family-friendly destination spread over 560 acres of beautiful rolling, beachfront land on the coast of Sicily. While it may be a large resort, it still manages to feel intimate and welcoming due to the attentive staff and stunning surroundings. When it comes to the facilities, everything here is top of the range; the stone and glass spa is arguably Verdura’s centrepiece with four thalassotherapy pools, a wonderful hammam and a holistic approach to health, wellbeing and fitness. Treatments focus on anti-ageing, rejuvenation, diet and detoxification with personalised programmes and tailor-made therapies offered to all guests. Modernist in design with 203 rooms (all complete with private terraces) housed in low-rise buildings or large beachfront villas with grass roofs, the décor hints at the surroundings with local materials used to create a sleek, yet laidback feel. The combination of the superb wellness offering, beautiful surroundings, and fantastic facilities will ensure you leave Verdura Resort feeling refreshed, relaxed and already planning your next visit.

Verdura Spa, a Rocco Forte Spa set amid olive groves, oranges and lemon trees at Verdura Resort is one of Europe’s most advanced luxury wellbeing centres. With a distinctive Sicilian flair, their spa philosophy is based on Sebastian Kneipp’s five pillars: water, plants, exercise, nutrition and balance. Although each pillar improves wellbeing, the interplay of all five actively promotes self-healing. Housed within pavilions set around an open-air courtyard, the 4,000 square metre spa has a 20-metre indoor swimming pool, a double-height steam room, Finnish and infrared saunas, a state-of-the-art gym, a fitness studio, relaxation areas and a hair and beauty salon. The Spa Bar has a terrace overlooking the mountains and offers light meals, smoothies, juices, infusions, and healing teas. There are also four outdoor thalassotherapy pools, heated at different temperatures with varying salt densities, minerals and organisms.
Spa Treatments at Verdura Resort include massages, compresses, wraps, scrubs, facials and rituals that combine multiple elements. Hair and beauty services, along with personal training, are also available.
The resort is geared up to exercise with two 18-hole championship golf courses, a 9-hole golf course, six tennis courts, a 60m-infinity pool and gym for guests to use. There are also running and trekking trails winding around the property, while windsurfing, sailing and diving are offered alongside yoga, stretching classes and power walk sessions.
The warm Mediterranean climate makes Sicily an idyllic year-round destination, so Verdura has devised a number of ways for guests to make the most of the sunshine and glorious fresh air. You can splash out in the 60-metre pool, jog around the lush island countryside, play a game of football and practice your lightning serve on the tennis courts. For those interested in the local region, excursions are available.
Guests may also sign up for culinary activities and participate in the weekly activities programme.
