Room Types

Accommodation at Vamizi Island is in one of the private villas, each of which included a 4x4 car with driver, a chef, and hospitality team.

Kipila: This 5 bedroom villa can sleep up to 12 people. 4 of the rooms are double/twin sized and are ensuite, while the other room is the children’s room and can sleep up to 6. The villa is set within 3 acres of grounds and has over 125 metres of pristine beachfront. The villa has a spacious lounge and dining area, as well as a swimming pool. There is also a children’s room which contains table tennis, a TV, books, and board games.

Suluwilo: This 5 bedroom private villa can sleep up to 12 people, with 3 double/twin ensuite rooms and 2 children’s rooms with either bunk or single beds. It lies within 3 acres of forest along a pristine white beach. The communal area consists of a spacious lounge and dining room that opens onto hardwood decking and a swimming pool. 

Casamina: This 6 bedroom villa can sleep up to 8 adults and 8 children, with 4 double/twin ensuite rooms and 2 children’s rooms with 2 sets of bunk beds and their own shared bathroom. It lies within 3 acres of forest and has over 125 metres of pristine beachfront offering absolute exclusivity and privacy. The villa has stunning views of the ocean from its communal area, which features open sides and a thatched roof to create a true sense of island living.

Casa Mariani: This 5 bedroom villa can sleep up to 6 adults and 6 children in 3 ensuite double/twin rooms and 2 children’s rooms set back in the forests with their own ensuite bathrooms. It lies within 4.7 acres of forest and has over 130 metres of beachfront offering exclusivity and privacy.

Tartagura: This 5 bedroom private villas can sleep up to 14 adults and children in 3 ensuite double/twin rooms and a further 2 rooms with 3 single beds which can convert into 2 super kings and a single.

Papilio: This 6 bedroom private villa sleeps up to 16 adults in 6 bedrooms, 4 of which are double/twin rooms with their own private decks and living areas, and the other 2 which have been built as ‘treehouses’ accessible by a suspended walkway. There are large communal areas, as well as a pool set in a hardwood terrace.

Spa

On Vamizi Island there is no spa as such, instead treatments are carried out within the luxurious confines of the guests’ private villa by highly trained specialists.

Location

Sweeping the Quirimbas Archipelago - barefoot chic doesn't come close. Sandy paths to lead your way and clear azure so bright sunglasses are a necessity. Vamizi Island is pure paradise.

After flying to Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) or Pemba (Mozambique) airport, you will be transferred by private charter flight to the island. The flight from Dar es Salaam is approximately 4 hours, while the flight from Pemba is just 45 minutes, both provide scenic views – you may even be able to sport whales swimming down below when the planes fly low enough. Once on the island you will be transferred by vehicle to the private villas, a journey of 25-45 minutes.

Insider's Tips
  • Make the most of the water sports equipment offered by the resort complimentary to guests.
  • If you are staying during the right season you can get help with releasing newly hatched turtles back into the sea.
  • The guided nature walks can be a tranquil experience, as well as giving you the chance to learn about the flora and fauna and wildlife that the island is home to.
