Why breaking a cleanse correctly can be as important as the cleanse itself

Cleanses can be a real journey. There are moments of struggle, of emotion, of determination…and then there are moments of sheer bliss. While our journeys may be different, something we can all agree on is just how amazing you can feel post detox. Many of us report clearer thinking, increased energy levels, smoother skin and weight loss. Such incredible side effects are always met with a daunting thought …how ever will we keep this up?

In order to maintain your wellbeing and make your retreat really worthwhile, it’s important to carry forward what you’ve learnt and apply it to your everyday life. Try to end your detox gradually; by slowly reintroducing back food groups and avoiding those foods that make you feel bloated and fatigued such as wheat, sugar and dairy.

It is also important to regulate your portion control, during a detox many of us realize that we don’t need to eat as much as we think we do to feel satisfied. Eating slowly and eating smaller portions will make you more mindful of what you are eating, and will increase your chances of sustaining your post-detox glow.

Unfortunately, it is all too easy to fall back into old routines. Our busy schedules and everyday pressures see us reaching for the easy option - which may not always be the best for our health. The Detox Kitchen can take away the stress of planning and cooking healthy meals, and help regulate portion control and re-educate your palette. Based on the principles of balanced healthy eating, our chefs and nutritionists develop menus that will cleanse your body and ensure you will feel revitalized and energised from the food we provide.

Our daily detox delivery comes in 5 different packages, all of which are wheat, dairy and refined-sugar free. Each package includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, juices, teas, supplements and a small pudding. We pride ourselves by using only local, seasonal produce to ensure each dish is deliciously nutritious. If the idea of detoxing after a detox isn’t exactly what you had in mind, fear not. By using an array of spices and herbs, we ensure every bite from each dish is utterly heavenly…
