Spa

Every breath is pure refreshment, a relaxation of the soul, a pure journey of revival. In Malay we call this Sucimurni. In Malaysia it is Tanjong Jara.

The philosophy of Sucimurni emphasizes purity of spirit, health, and well-being. The award-winning Spa Village Tanjong Jara is a sanctuary anchored in this ancient Malay way of life.

This beautiful complex of structures, gardens and pools, houses a therapy centre featuring programs for relaxation, reinvigoration and stress relief based on traditional healing methods.

These unique restorative Malay treatments have been handed down from generation to generation, ensuring their authenticity, and therapeutic value. With a history of more than a thousand years, the practices are believed to have their origins in the convergence of Malay, Arab, Indian and Chinese influences during the days of the Malacca Sultanate.

At the Spa Village Tanjong Jara these long held health and beauty traditions are revived for you to enjoy. Treat yourself to this rich history, in which unique natural ingredients found in various indigenous herbs and plants are combined with the skills of our resident Malay healers to provide a very special health and beauty experience.

Once you have completed your treatment at Spa Village Tanjong Jara you will receive a beautiful Batik Sarong, providing you with a memento of your own personal Sucimurni experience.

Cuisine

Authentic Malay cuisine is served in Di ATas Sungei, where there’s no menu, just fantastic food created by masterful chefs. There’s also a seafood restaurant and a terrace where you can enjoy private dining experiences. The resort is also home to a celebrated cooking school.

Di Atas Sungei

‘Di Atas Sungei’ is Malay for ‘above the river’ so guests will find it easy to spot this restaurant which literally sits above a river that flows into the South China Sea. With no menu, guests are guided by the Resort’s Menu Masters, experts in local cuisine, who provide a distinctive dining experience using only the freshest produce of the highest quality. Surrounded by lush tropica greenery, and shaded by a huge Ketapang tree, the restaurant opens for breakfast and dinner and serves authentic Malaysian cuisine.

Nelayan

‘Nelayan’ in the Malay language means ‘Fisherman’. Befitting the restaurant’s name, seafood is the speciality of this outlet. Situated by the sea, the atmosphere at Nelayan is relaxed and informal. A variety of Asian and Western light meals are served for lunch and Western cuisine at dinner. Nelayan assumes a romantic ambience after sunset and guests have the option of enjoying a delightful alfresco dining experience on the beach featuring bamboo torches and the gentle sound of the waves.

Teratai Terrace

Situated beside the Resort’s free-form pool with a view of the South China Sea, Teratai Terrace serves cocktails in the evenings and offers private dining experiences. Enjoy dinner and drinks under a canopy of stars to the sweet strains of live Gamelan music.

Private Dining Experiences

For more intimate dining experiences, there is a selection of stunning locations each with its own choice of menu. From Dinner on the Beach, a romantic dinner on the golden beach under a sea of stars to a personal barbecue dinner on your balcony, discover a special world set in the gentle grandeur of ancient Malay kings.

Dinner on the Beach

Indulge in a romantic dinner under the indigo sky as the cool sea breeze drifts past you both, accompanied by the soothing melody of the Gamelan. While guests feast their eyes on the moonlit waters of the South China Sea and luxuriate in the beauty of the natural surroundings, a delectable five-course set dinner is served. The golden sands, glowing hurricane lanterns and tranquil setting make for an ideal outdoor dining experience.

Villa Dining

Dine in the privacy of your own personal terrace. The intimate villa dining experience is available for those who do not wish to leave the comfort of their room. Enjoy an exquisite candlelit dinner served by one of our dedicated wait staff beneath a starlit sky. Available for the Anjung and Serambi rooms only.
